Josh has played a key role in expanding and modernizing our operations through the use of innovative techniques and advanced equipment. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in Economics in 2008, joined the maritime workforce in 2009, and became a certified Marine Chemist in 2013.
Josh has led efforts to streamline local shipboard confined space rescue protocols, coordinating closely with repair yards, contractors, the North Charleston Fire Department, the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command, and the U.S. Coast Guard. These initiatives fostered important collaborations, resulting in numerous technical training sessions and a deeper understanding of how all parties can contribute effectively to rescue scenarios.
He has served as an Atlantic sectional delegate (July 2017 – April 2019) on the Marine Chemist Association (MCA) Executive Committee, as an Independent Marine Chemist (January 2019 – June 2024) on the Marine Chemist Qualification Board (MCQB), and as a member of several safety committees and task forces. Josh currently serves as Chair Elect (July 2024 – July 2026) on the MCA’s Board of Directors.

Casey began his maritime career in 2011 when he enrolled at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). In 2013, during his Ship Superintendent Internship with Detyens Shipyards, Inc., our team had the pleasure of working with him. After graduating from USMMA in 2015 with a B.S. in Marine Engineering and Shipyard Management, Casey enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve’s Strategic Sealift Officer Force and served several years with the Military Sealift Command (MSC).
During his time with MSC, he sailed aboard one Emory S. Land-class submarine tender, two Supply-class fast combat support ships, and two Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ships. He had also previously sailed aboard four other vessels while at USMMA. With extensive experience in maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of electrical and mechanical vessel machinery, as well as oversight of engineering tasks and damage control training, Casey was exceptionally prepared when he began training to become a Marine Chemist in 2020.
He earned his certification in 2022 and completed hundreds of inspections in Texas before joining our team in July 2023. Fun fact: Casey is also an Eagle Scout.
